Today we live in a multicultural world; where we interact and work immersed in an environment in which there is diversity in all its aspects: age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical attributes, because we are all unique individuals. According to Eurostat data (01/2016), there are over 508 million people in Europe and thanks to the constantly increasing migration flows, the European population continues to increase. The development of an increasingly global and diverse European society leads to have more contact with people from other countries, increasing the importance of language and cultural skills, at work and socially. We have to be aware of diversity. Based on these funds, "Exploit Your Diversity" project aims to strengthen social cohesion at youth level and to give an opportunity for those working in a multicultural environment and who want to improve their skills and competencies to manage diversity. In this sense, the specific objectives of the project are:-To promote a multicultural environment;-To train youth workers to combat discrimination;-To promote the importance of having different skills, culture and origins;-To promote dialogue between cultures in Europe by stimulating the deepening of the concepts of diversity management;-To promote the incorporation of non-discriminative policies in the workplace and in the community.Participants should learn to appreciate the differences in gender, culture, sex and age. The project will include 28 participants, 4 each of the countries (including Spain). For the selection of the participants the following criteria will be considered:- Demonstration of social sensitivity- Personal beliefs and attitudes-Proportion Of gender equality (50-50).The training course will be held in Malaga in Andalusia during the month of October 2016. The main objective of the project is to strengthen social cohesion among young people, and empowering youth workers with the tools and skills necessary to combat discrimination and enhance the value of having different skills, cultures and backgrounds.Based on a comparative analysis of training needs, the partners have identified and decided to divide the activities in six main areas:- Who I am?- Why diversity?- With diversity: exploring ways to prevent and resolve conflicts.-Diversity and social inclusion: strategies to promote an inclusive environment.-Diversity as an opportunity: How to manage it?-European policies and equal opportunities: United in Diversity.Through methodologies of non-formal education, the project will allow us to share knowledge, attitudes and skills, while promoting awareness of the participants in their own learning process. The planned activities are carried out with highly interactive and participatory methods. The exchange of experiences and exchange of practices are considered essential to the success of the project. The basic idea of the project is, to create "multipliers", so they can apply what they learned to their daily work and social life. For these reasons, sections of impact and dissemination of the results have been strategically prepared.Locally, the main objective is to open and have an impact on the territory of Malaga (city where PROJUVEN is based) as well as in Andalusia and Europe. This impact is intended to inform young people and the institutions of the environment on the project. The impact on the national and international levels is undoubtedly more difficult for a project of short duration. When the project results are lasting and visible, increases the credibility of a European project and succeed to convince more people of its benefits. However, in addition to the network of partners, the project results will be available for educational institutions, government agencies and local schools. The expected long-term impact is:- To increase youth participation in European projects;- Increasing employment in areas where live people with fewer opportunities;- Increase the participation of young people in youth associations;- Creating new spaces for participation and collaborative work between European organizations;- Improve the confidence of the communities, regions and nations in the European institutions;- Increase the number of organizations representing civil society in Europe;- Improve and increase the European feeling of European regions;- Strengthen the use of alternative methods and non-formal education to assess the competence of young people, to break the cycle "he has no experience, so he can not work."
