According to a research of the local market needs, for the development of Laconia it is necessary to foster the extroversion of the local agro-food high quality products produces namely the oil, the wine and the citrus. The Laconia Development and Progress Organization with the cooperation of Laconia Chamber, having as their main goal the development of the local market, set the exportations of the local products as a strategic goal and wish to implement a VET mobility project. Managers of SME producing local products, mainly production and sales managers will be given the chance to be trained and work for a period of two weeks in similar exporting enterprises in Italy and importing enterprises in Germany. The participants, due to their training role in the enterprise will transfer the knowledge acquired within the mobility to their staff, improving thus the comparative advantage of their enterprise. Aim of the project is the transfer of knowledge and experience from enterprises in other member states to SME of agro-food products in Laconia, so as to increase the effectiveness of the latter for the promotion of the local products abroad. In particular, we aim at the development of skills related with the exportation of the local products such as exporting marketing, processes for labeling and certifications, communication and professional cooperation in other markets, use of other languages with professional terms. For the implementation of the project we will cooperate with intermediary organizations such as Business Associations and VET schools, which will undertake the hosting of the participants in Italy and Germany and their placement in experienced enterprises. Laconia Chamber as sending organization will select the participants, prepare and train them before their departure and support them during and after their mobility. The Laconia Development and Progress Organization will disseminate and exploit the project’s results in the prefecture of Laconia. We estimate that the project will have positive impact in the area of Laconia, Peloponnese and in Greece in total, since it is expected to boost the exportations of Greek local products. The local economy will benefit from the economic development due to the exportations and the employment will be increased. In parallel, we hope that in long term it will be created a place identity for Laconia connected with local high-value products, which may favor other sectors of the economy such as agrotourism and ecotourism.
