The project "European training placement for better preparation of the smooth transition from school to work" aims to develop, of 50 students from High School Traian Vuia Craiova, some general technical competences and acquiring their practical skills in the field of automation and metal processing as well as to develop their linguistic, cultural skills and capacity to adapt to life and work in another cultural context , in order to make them more prepared for a smoother transition from school school of work.The project responds to the training needs, identified at the school level, to prepare the quality workforce, competitive on the national and European labor, through training and development of knowledge, practical skills and competences, adapted to the European labor market as well as to increase linguistic and cultural skills of students.In this project, 50 students of class X, from Traian Vuia High School in Craiova, who are preparing for qualification in automation and mechatronics technicians will attend a training placement for 3 weeks, organized into two companies, P.Kousios electrical Ltd and Michael Charalambos Metal Works, in Paphos, Cyprus.During the training placement, the 25 participants, who are preparing for the qualification Technician in automation will develop their professional competences and practical skills on installing, operating, maintenance and repairing automation systems and electric drive systems connected to solar power , solar heating, automatic doors and gates, elevators, security systems etc.The 25 participants, who are preparing for the qualification of mechatronics will develop gebneral competences in mechanics, technical skills on cold working the metal , operating machines turning, milling, grinding and practical skills of construction the removable and non-removable assembly.All 50 participants will develop general competences regarding the integration at work, teamwork, effective communication with clients and satisfying the customers' needs, problem solving, becoming more motivated for learning and training and better oriented career.The 50 participants will become familiar with the specific of the work in a European company and with working in a multicultural team, will have an experience of integration in another cultural context , will improve their language and cultural skills , which can help them to better integrate European labor market, as future professionals.The project will help the school to increase its prestige in the community, in educational system, among young people, increasing the quality of education and training provided by the school, diversification and attractiveness of the educational offer and adapting training to the specific labor market, which, in the medium term, will be reflected in the increasing number of those who choose to attend school, and the long permen in increasing the insertion of graduates in the labor market.
