Project Expanding Horizons Through European Experience is a project of VET learners mobility in companies. The vocational school Industrijsko-obrtnička škola Šibenik sends on a three-week mobility 41 VET learners of the following professions: 10 electrical mechanics, 2 electricians, 2 electronics-mechanics, 4 car mechanics, 5 car mechatronics, 3 boat mechanics, 9 gas installation specialists, 2 plumbers and 4 heating and air conditioning specialists. The foreign project partners are Alaymont International Company Ltd from Dublin (Ireland) and Kroatische Wirtschaftsvereinigung e.V. from Frankfurt (Germany), who will find companies for work placement in Dublin and Frankfurt and organize accommodation for VET learners during mobility. 18 VET learners will go to Ireland - 5 electrical mechanics, 1 electrician, 2 electronics-mechanics, 2 car mechanics, 5 car mechatronics and 3 boat mechanics, while the other 23 students will go to Germany - 5 electrical mechanics, 1 electrician 2 car mechanics, 9 gas installation specialists, 2 plumbers and 4 heating and air conditioning specialists. Each group of VET learners will be accompanied by two teachers. The objectives of the project are to enhance the professional and personal development of the participants, to improve their language skills, to stimulate the development of the school as a sending organization and its international dimension and to strengthen the connection between the world of education and the world of work. The duration of the project is 12 months, and the planned time for both mobility flows is spring 2015. At the end of mobility, the participants will get Europass Mobility Document, which they will be able to use when seeking employment and for a future mobility. The three weeks spent in companies abroad will be recognized and acknowledged as a part of their obligatory work placement in Croatia. The mobility project will have a strong and long term impact on the participants, as well as on the school as the sending organization. The participants will acquire professional skills and competences, they will get acquainted with new technologies and improve their foreign language competences. The school will increase its international dimension, which will contribute to raising the quality and attractiveness of vocational education.
