The long-term EVS project "EVS @ Arsenals" takes place in International centre of cinema, in Riga, in Latvia for 6 months (from May 2011 till November 2011) and involves 2 volunteers from Slovenia and Portugal. The main project's themes are culture, cinema, innovation, new technologies and creativity. Volunteers will work in team with Latvians on international cinema forum Arsenals 2011 organizing. The aim of the project is to give an opportunity to youngsters from another countries to learn international cinema forum organizing from very planning stage till the realization and to bring international values on organizers' team and international innovations on festival's program as well, promoting the collaboration between different countries and involving youngsters in cinema activities. Volunteers will participate in the organizing of festival's different elements (cultural events, concerts, exhibitions, performances, promo materials etc.) promoting cinema as a culture value and learning tool in the local and international society.They will have oppurtunity to improve (learning by doing) different skills and competences: translating (info materials and web page), artistic skills (decoration, design), communication, working in team and with festival's guests, graphic design, organization skills (event's organizing). Volunteers will attend basic Latvian language and regular Russian language courses, they will have training on big festival coordination and graphic design as well. Volunteers will be accommodated in separate flat and will work full working week on flexible schedule according to the project needs. They will create their own project as well.
