PROJET
TERMINÉ
We had a youth initiative in February and April 2014 we made a plan for a permaculture garden. The plan is to work with this project for 10 years and it will be run by volunteers (EVS) and local youth together. We want your garden to be an open garden for local schools, kindergartens and other interested persons. We focus on cooperation, sharing of information and products, sharing of good values, environmental commitment, informal learning and positive working experiences. We focus on that everyone involved in the project, guests and visitors to experience new knowledge about an alternative way of living and working. When we have the knowledge to grow their own food, one need not so much money. Man is not dependent on working all day and do not need to be away from family and home. This can be helpful for young people who do not get a full time job in spite of education, initiative and good will. This is important knowledge for young people to establish themselves in countries with high unemployment and major environmental challenges. These experiences are important for youngsters private, but also to young people to contribute to their communities and / or political. In 2014 and 2015 we had three volunteers in the project. We have worked with design of a water-canal system, rabbitgarden, a giant labyrinth. We have had several holiday clubs for children where volunteers have participated as assistants and managers. We have grown potatoes, beans, tomatoes, peas, onions, carrots, herbs, berries. We have dried, pickled, juicy and sold and eaten our products. We have used self-madewillow as building materials for fences and made a small village for children. Volunteers have actively participated in the local culture, the culture school, the Viking market, football team, in the Green Party, canoeing, climbing, trip to the beutiful Vestland in Norway, camfire-party and horseback rides. They have traveled around the country on vacation and had a lot of fun together with local youth. We had a fun and well-functioning workplace where cooperation has worked very well. The volunteer has shown great commitment, has been active designers in the project and has carried out its own projects during the stay. Creativity and enthusiasm has characterized the project in both 2014 and 2015. All have learned a lot Norwegian and a lot about Norwegian culture. This is something we want to continue to later volunteers.Worth noting is that one of the volunteers from 2014 came back a week in 2015 to meet again old friends and participate informally on a Childre Holiday Club. We have made concrete plans for cooperation concerning. Youth Exchange with one of the other volunteers in 2014.One of the volunteers from 2015 have startet to work and have settled down in Norway.
