Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Summary: The project was a great success. Alison and Maja lived in a student dorm in Sønderborg and the first plans where made right after their moving in already. They both worked in DKS kindergardens and had internships at German schools. Especially the collaboration with Vidensbyen Sønderborg, specifically Global House was a great success. (http://globalhouse.dk/ ) Alison played an important role in the completion of a project for the schools in the Sønderborg Kommune. She also participated in an EVS information event with more than 80 Danish high school students in Statsskolen Åbenrå. (www.prezi.com/94w4vavl4eio/european-voluntary-service/) Both, Alison and Maja where an enrichment for our institution!!! DKS is located in the border region near Germany. Our geographical location alone offers us a multifaceted approach in the pedagogical work. The mixture of not only Scandinavian but also German pedagogic is very special. In our institution Europe plays a big role from the very beginning. We host students from other countries on a regular basis. For us cultural diversity has become a normal aspect of our work. This is the reason why we are a good example for how diversity can enrich people's lives. The project "EVS meets Sønderborg - the city where cultures interact" gives our 2 volunteers the possibility to broaden their personal horizon and to support the work of our organisation “Deutsche Kindergärten Sonderburg” for a time period of 9 months. The volunteers will especially support the work in our bilingual kinder gardens. Experiencing two languages in daily life, the exchange with the staff and the collaboration with the parents is a resource, which enriches. The easiness with which our children are juggling between two languages inspires to learn new languages. The volunteers will also have the possibility to develop and offer own activities. These will be planned and realized with our assistance. The participants learn through the different themes and the program itself. Especially: 1. respecting each other, respecting people and opinions 2. personal development, presenting own talents 3. an increase in independence and self-confidence 4. working together with the staff and other volunteers 5. learning to be have responsibility 6. working with children from an other country 7. the development of language, daring to speak another language than the actual mother tongue 8. noticing the values ot the own culture and learning to respect other cultures and minorities The volunteers will have the chance to reflect on their own learning process and learning potential during staff meetings with the other workers. Their mentor will talk to the volunteers on a regular basis about their aims for the time being in Denmark and the effects the EVS has on their personality. Together they will fill out the Youthpass and try to summarize the learning outcomes under the key competences set up in the Youthpass. The DKS Sonderburg in Southern Denmark offers European diversity. We are not only a kindergarden of the German minority, we also enable the contact with parents from e.g. England, the Netherlands, Russia and Poland. This allows the volunteers an open-minded encounter with European citizens. The curriculum in each department is adjusted to this diversity. Throughout the year 2015 and 2016 our volonteers actively participatet in our departments and presented their experiences and traditions. Our children are quit curious and eager to get to know the new experiences. This starts with the arrangement of the tradition and continues with traditional national dishes and a lot more. Our 2 evs: Maja and Alison was confronted with the bilingual daily life – which inspired them to learn new languages. The volunteers was in Danish language classes.(lær dansk – learning danish) Since our future rests in Europe, we would like to show that to our children from the very beginning on. As a matter of course, the volunteers was assisted by the trained staff. The volonteers was also in school lessons in our german schools in Sønderborg and Gråsten.
