This project is a European Voluntary Service project where four volunteers, 2 from Turkey in the first phase lasting 3 months and 2 participants in the second phase (1 from Germany and 1 from Spain) lasting 6 months, will be hosted by Red Cross. This project represents the first hosting experience for the Italian partner RED CROSS and the opportunity to start with a shorter period will provide a learning opportunity to the hosting partner developing its own first project involving 2 volunteers coming from the same country and for a short time. Red Cross, thanks to the nature of its activities based on social interaction and humanitarian values, is a perfect place to host youngsters in need to develop more self-confidence and see positive results thanks to their involvement in civic society. In this volunteering context they will feel part of the community and the concrete results of their volunteering work getting a sense of satisfaction giving an important contribution to the local community in terms of solidarity and support. We expect a positive impact in the hosting organization that will benefit of new inputs and energies that will help them to create their own project ideas and give new impulse to the “youth sector” of the organization, creating a more stimulating “young” context for the local volunteers which could help to increase the level of satisfaction among the younger members and the active participation at local level. For that reason, this main activities of this project idea are based on interaction with local youngsters and active participation of the EVS themselves for the local community mainly focus on the values of solidarity. The tasks of the EVS volunteers in this project are to support organization’s activities in the “youth sector” of the hosting organization on the main aspect of interaction, information and campaign, educational worshops and social animation. By a gradual knowledge process, we wish that volunteers could get awareness of their own ability and interests. In particular, they have the opportunities to learn how to live and work in a different country developing independency and gaining more self-confidence in own skills and competences Indeed, the volunteers will gain new competences, skills and attitude that they can transfer into the job Market but also they can enrich their CV with a new experience of long-term living and working abroad. At the end of the service we expect that the volunteer will be facilitated in entering into the job market.
