EVS Exploring Balkans
Date du début: 4 mai 2015, Date de fin: 3 nov. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Center for Economic and Social Development is an organization with high experience in work with young people. Therefore, we are very much aware of the obstacles and the challenges they face nowadays. Universities in Kosovo offer high level of a theory education, but there is a lack of practice which indeed can be gained through non formal education. The strong partnership between ILIRIA Collage and CESD will help 3 Turkish volunteers to sharp their knowledge and skills. Through multiethnic workshops for sharping professional skills (more precisely: workshops about communication and leadership skills, about how to conduct during the first interview for a job, how to prepare a good CV, how to write a motivation letter, how to write business plan, financial literacy, time management, improving negotiation and self presentation skills), we will prepare young unemployed people from Turkey to become more competent in the labor market. It will be a cycle of workshops that will last three months. Pristina, is the capital and largest city of Kosovo. It is the administrative center of the homonyms municipality and district. Preliminary results of the 2011 census put the population of Pristina at 198,000. The city has a majority Albanian population, alongside other smaller communities including Bosniaks, Romani and others. Prishtina is the ultimate mix of modern culture & tradition, and provides endless opportunities for exploring both the modern cultural trends and the rich tradition. In Kosovo there are two official languages Albanian and Serbian language. Beside this in municipality level each language spoken by more than 5 % of the population is a official language too, and languages spoken by more than 3 % or are in traditional use are considered also as official languages. All of this is a prove of interculturism and multiculturalism. Prejudices on ethnic basis are strongly present and with the aim to overcome them we will ensure that the participants on the workshops are with different ethnic background. Indirectly, through team work during the workshops, young people will get to know each other better and new multiethnic friendships will rise. Turkey and Kosovo has many mutual cultural habits, also as Turkey is a country with high experience in multiculturalism and inter ethnicity, the Turkish EVS volunteers who will come will share their experience from living in a multiethnic environment and help local youngsters start seeing their differences as an advantage rather than an obstacle. Also in municipality of Prizren Turkish language is official language. The project will last 3 months, starting from 1st of June 2015 until 1 of September 2015. The EVS service will take place in Prishtina, Kosovo at the facilities of Center for Economic and Social Development.
