Since 2004 Kumulus and Kalmar region has strategically been working with the Youth in Action and EVS as a tool to build understanding and tolerance between people. EVS centre in Kalmar Region is the coordinating organization and it supports 10 different EVS project all over the region with administration and project development. Most of the projects that Kumulus is supporting have a clear connection to the local youth works and to the local youth centers. At the projects the volunteers has the opportunity to experience and learn how Kalmar region is working with youth policies and active citizenship and at the same time take part in a lot of different activities. At the projects the volunteers are going to have the opportunity to develop his or her own projects that can be connected to the projects and to the volunteer’s interest. At all the different local youth centers the volunteers has become an appreciated added value both for the youth and for the staff.
