The project "The European Experience for Improving and Validating the Vocational skills in Touristic Area" is intended for persons undergoing initial vocational education and training (VET) of High Vocational school of Tourism "Dr Vasil Beron", Veliko Turnovo. Recently the tourist industry in Bulgaria is undergoing important changes. On one hand the hotels and restaurants category has become higher, the material base has renovated and it has the same quality as in the developed tourist destinations as Italy, and especially Florence. However on the other hand this is in contrast with the poor quality of service in our country as a result of insufficient qualification of the working in the tourism industry staff. The result as a whole is that this trend has a negative impact on the quality and competitiveness of the supplied tourist products in the hotels and restaurants in Bulgaria. In order to overcome the existing problems is necessary to pay particular attention to the skills and competences of the tourism staff. Through the students' practice in real conditions in restaurants and hotels with proven traditions and quality of the service their skills and competences will be improved, they will get to know with the european experience and modern trends in the service in restaurants and hotels in Florence, Italy, which is a world tourist destination. This will improve their skills and competences and will make them more competitive staff on the labour market in the tourism area. High Vocational School of Tourism "Dr. Vasil Beron" has chosen Italy as a host country as it is one of the leading tourist destinations, in which the tourism is a priority and the services quality meets the highest european standards. The Mobility in Italy, will give opportunities to students, to improve their professional skills in the field of restaurants and hotels. Users of the project will also improve their language skills, personal self-esteem and confidence and will enrich their knowledge of cultural diversity. Mobility abroad will help to contribute the experience in the education and the integration of Bulgarian schools in Europe school system. This training will give opportunities: -to compare vocational competences , which Bulgarian students gain with the competences described in a competence grid in project LEO quali-TC -to validate trough certificate all competences, which the students will achieve. The project's work program includes a three-week mobility in Italy for 15 students from PGT during July 2015.The students will be chosen from 10,11 grade in the following specialties: Catering, technology and management of production and service in catering, production and technology of bread, bakery and confectionary products. The project is implemented in partnership with the Italian organization Reattiva, located in Florence, Italy, whose main task is to initiate, coordinate and implement projects in partnership with other organizations from EU. The host country will provide practical training for students, which includes a three-week practice in high category of hotels and restaurants in Florence that offer a modern and quality tourist product which is world well-known. Improving and acquiring new knowledge and skills of the participants are extremely important for improving the quality and attractiveness of VET in the field of tourism in Veliko Tarnovo region. Application of knowledge and skills in practice will make the participants more competitive and lead to their better implementation of the Bulgarian and European market. In advanced the improved professional participants skills will help to develop tourism industry in the region of Veliko Tarnovo, and will satisfy market needs for skilled manpower in the field of hotels and restaurants.
