Every Act of Participation Makes a Difference

“Every Act of Participation Makes a Difference!” is a 2 months - short term EVS, to be hosted from Beyond Barriers Association in Tirana Albania from 07 October - 07 December 2013. It will bring together 20 volunteers from Romania, Italy, France, Latvia and Spain (4 volunteers per association). The main aim of this project is to promote active citizenship through campaigning and empowering young people. The EVS volunteers will work on a campaign for two months, while giving themselves the possibility to improve their skills and make a change in the community. The campaign will be directly and indirectly touching youngster of High Schools, Universities, special education institutions, the civil society of the city and in a wider term the mass media and public of Albania. The high reach will be gained through the important events and the media coverage, as well as the use of social media tools. The EVS volunteers shall work in active participation, European citizenship and promotion of volunteering as a tool for active participation of youngsters, raising the awareness towards volunteering for a better society and leaving a mark to be remembered. A special target group to this project will be youngsters with fewer opportunities and those with learning difficulties, and those with less opportunities of getting involved. During the two months the volunteers will work in the Planning and Implementing the campaign, where they will be the ambassadors of each step. The main activities that the EVS volunteers will carry out during the project are: 1. Planning, designing and implementing the Active Citizens Campaign in Tirana.2. Promoting active youth participation, European citizenship and volunteering in the high schools of Tirana3.
