This project will evaluate the impact and cost-effectiveness of audio-visual training within Europe with a view to drawing up a European Broadcasting Union (EBU) code of practice and accreditation standard. It is recognised within the industry that transnational collaboration, standardisation and mobility of labour provide the essential response to the problems encountered by users and training providers in Europe's public-service broadcasting and multi-media sector who are having to find solutions for the on-going changes in technology and employment patterns. The result of the evaluation will be a practical toolkit which training suppliers and their clients will use to evaluate the impact and quality of available training programmes. This kit will comprise an introduction to the principles and practice of evaluation and performance indicators, a 'how to' guide and a dictionary of terms. The training evaluation system will be made freely available to all EBU members and the public via the EBU web site.
