Europejska praktyka elektryka i elektronika

This project is targeted at 10 teachers of vocational subjects and 20 Secondary Technical School students specializing in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. Students will be accompanied by two teachers. Job shadowing for teachers will take place from 19th to 23rd January 2016 and students’ vocational training will last from 3rd to 20th April 2016. Both groups will stay in Veszprém, Hungary. Teachers and students will experience the workplaces and workdays at such companies as Balluff, Elektrocenter and I.D.S. They will visit FESTO-laboratory at the Pannon University Veszprém, too. In all these places they will have some theory as well as practical exercises, they will take part in different kinds of activities to gain and share knowledge, get and broaden experience in the field of electronics and electrical engineering, exchange information and acquire professional competence. The project’s aim is also to facilitate students’ and teachers’ personal development and increase their self-esteem, encourage teamwork and an ongoing relationship between young people and caring adults , push them to action and real life problem solving, encourage them to learn foreign languages and revise specialist vocabulary, discover new cultures and explore different parts of the world. Job shadowing is an opportunity that will allow teachers to learn more about vocational education in Hungary and new technologies used in Hungarian companies. By all means the knowledge that teachers will gain will help them to prepare students even better to become skilled and professional workers on the European job market one day. The expected results by the end of the students’ vocational training include their being able to perform certain tasks: disassembly of electrical wiring, assembly of lighting systems, assembly of electrical wiring including electrical safety equipment, assembly of fire protection systems and anti-burglar defense systems, assembly of signal adapters, soldering sensor wires, making distance sensors, disassembly of electrical cabinets with PLC drivers and electrical motor drives, disassembly of transformer cabinets. The project is expected to have enormous and long-term influence on teachesr and students. Vocational training will teach students about particular jobs and how to perform certain vocational tasks. Both teachers and students will broaden their occupational/vocational knowledge, they will discover new possibilities, become aware of the necessity of constant self-improvement, they will overcome language barriers and become more self-confident. Students and teachers will explore a new country, learn the importance of tolerance and being open to other cultures and nations.
