Project name: European quality of Zespołu Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 1 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki - we improve teachers’ language and professional skills. Project context: the projects concerns the increase of language and professional competence of general subjects teachers and vocational subjects teachers, school pedagogue and head teachers of Technical School No 1 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The project puts particular emphasis on creative teaching. A wide range of theories, observations will definitely allow project participants to fully understand and practically use the gained knowledge at our school environment.Project aims: increasing language and professional competence of the teachers, getting acquainted with teaching methods and techniques and new ways of teaching activities, which motivate students. Getting to know the impact of educational assistance and the assistance of the school pedagogue. Gaining openness and intercultural sensitivity as well as the ability to adopt to living and working conditions in another EU country will increase the occupational mobility and will make us aware of the importance of linguistic skills.Number of participants: in total 16. There will be 4 mobilities altogether. In three of them, 12 teachers will participate in language courses, these include general and vocational subjects teachers, school pedagogue and head teachers. Teachers of different seniority and work experience. Everyone speaks elementary English at level A-0/A-1. In the 4th mobility, 4 English teachers will take part in methodological and language courses. Every teacher speaks English at level C-1/C-2.Activities description: in the first place we will choose both a language course as well as a methodological and language course. We will book places on courses. We will prepare ourselves paying special attention to a trip and accommodation organization, gathering materials to be used on courses, such as our school presentation, the description of Polish educational system and our culture. We will log on to the eTwinning platform and do the offered courses. After the recruitment, the project participants will initiate a language. We will also prepare ourselves mentally, getting to know the country we are travelling to, travel rules and stay policy. By participating in the project, we want to observe the class conduction of both general and vocational subjects and we want to get to know the details of working in a project- based manner.We would like to get acquainted with the school pedagogue work. Our objective is also to get acquainted with the British and European culture because of the necessity of reference to these on many other subjects. The participation in the project will be an excellent possibility for the contact with a live language, British culture and tradition. We are planning to find and develop new contacts with various educational establishments in the host’s country interested in mutual cooperation on the eTwinning platform.Methodology used in the project: During the project we will use various ways of gathering data such as: a survey among students, reviewing the influence of used teaching techniques on their motivation. We will also observe the methods of teaching and consider if they may be applied in our school. We will talk with students and teachers. We will analyze all the findings in order to find out what really motivates the students to learn. When the project ends, we will organize a meeting of the participants and propose a strategy of implementing the achieved goals. We will agree on the way of accomplishing our goals. We will implement the plan of dissemination of the project results and begin to carry out the eTwinning projects. We will share the knowledge and skills gained on the course with our students. By using the Internet and local press we will bring the results of the project closer to the local community what will also improve their awareness and understanding of the whole idea of learning mobility.The expected results and the impact of the project: the tangible results of our activity in the project will be the documentation of education methods and techniques (folders, training materials, pictures), multimedia presentations, video materials (culture and history of the host’s country). The above mentioned materials will act for our students as the encouragement for studying and they will stimulate their interest. These materials will be also used on general and vocational subjects.Long-term benefits: We will achieve many long term benefits like qualified employees, better teaching results, raising the students’ learning motivation, improving the methods of teaching, modernizing the teaching process, keeping the international contacts with other schools in order to exchange experiences. The participation in the project will also influence our school attractiveness.
