European Virtual Environment for Work-based Learning

European work places are evolving, demanding new management skills and competences, whilst creating new opportunities for learning. E-ViEW will harnesses recent advances in pedagogy, technical innovation and methods of best practice to create and share a new, European work based learning (WBL) Virtual Campus (VC) in HE level management competences.WBL is a process for recognising, creating and applying knowledge through, for, and at work. A WBLearner negotiates their work programme with their tutor and employer and is supported by appropriate pedagogy and guidance.E-ViEW will meet employer demand for higher level skills, employee demand for flexible lifelong learning, while providing European HEIs with open educational resources (OERs) to support the exploitation of the WBL VC. The outputs include:- Piloted guidelines which ensure that technological, strategic, organisational, didactical, pedagogical, economic and quality issues are all appropriately addressed. - ICT that enables all learning, support, and peer and tutor interactions to be carried out online, utilising a range of existing technologies and social media. Tools will be tailored to the requirements and pedagogical approach of WBL- A WBL VC framework with a sample undergraduate module developed and piloted with end users.Both will be transferable across Europe.E-ViEW will: - implement a user-centred approach undertaking a needs analysis with employees, enterprises, and HEIs - build on previous work in the field of VCs to ensure that outcomes are innovative and sustainableThe expected outcomes, results and impact include:- Provision of sustainable WBL VCs among wider European HEIs- Improving European enterprise competitiveness through management skill enhancement- Increased European virtual mobility among beneficiaries- Enhanced learner professional knowledge and European management competence- Piloting of the VC with a minimum of 4 employers and 100 employees within 4 partner countries
