The need for knowledge exchange in all relevant areasof urban policy has been identified for quite some timeby Member States, European municipalities and theEuropean Commission.The EUKN is to realize a sustainable and effective knowledgenetwork between European cities, urban researchers andknowledge institutes in order to support policy-makers indeveloping an effective urban policy.The objective of this URBACT Working Group is focusedon the preparation of a pilot project which in its turn willprepare the development of the European Urban KnowledgeNetwork (EUKN).The main objective of the URBACT Working Groupis to prepare the EUKN pilot by:1. establishing Focal Points in all participating MemberStates2. identifying the knowledge demand3. developing protocols for the dissemination and validationof relevant knowledge4. developing the technical architecture of the knowledgenetwork (web portal)5. launching a test-case website6. developing a communication/marketing strategy Achievements: Please refer to the 'Description' field, which also includes the achievements of this project.
