The proposed Module aims to provide participants with a wider knowledge of EU law and specifically of the most important aspects of the process of EU integration in the field of Rail transport and Intermodal Transport, with a cross-reading of several and very current topics related to this matter, such as the liberalization process of rail transport, the implementation of passenger rights, the issues of safety and security, the connections with intermodal transport. Due to a notable lack of knowledge of the matter in Italy, the will of the project is to stimulate the debate and the research in the field. The module is organized on a 3 year basis and it is accessible for both students and practitioners. Specifically, during the project's lifetime a wide variety of both teaching and practical activities will be set up with at least 42 hours of teaching classes. The annual module programme starts each year with the training course. At the end of the training course, seminars and/or workshops on this specific matter will be held at the University of Milan aiming at promoting studies and debate on core-issues of the sector and allowing the participants (not only students but also law pratictioners, professionals and journalists) to gain an expertise to be reflected in the civil society. The subjects treated may also represent an opportunity to establish multidisciplinary synergies with courses of Secondary Education Institutes different Faculties in Italy and abroad, especially the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Economics. Furthermore, during each summer semester, specific abroad study visits will be organized. The results obtained with the course, seminars and workshops will continue with the publication of a book on the treated topics and with the divulgation of teaching materials and other relevant documents. The latter will be made freely available to general public in a dedicated Section of the website http://www.eurojus.it.
