Project duration : 01.06.2016 - 31.05.2018 / 24 months /Project background : Project is a part of the planned modernization of GTA school curriculum for the following 10 years .Main aim of the school is to improve the quality of preparation of its students for university but in connection with the modern trends also to offer education where the theoretical studies will be in higher concordance with its practical use together with the higher specialization in particular subjects which should lead both to better meeting young generation abilities and skills and to remarkable increase of their successful score on the university entry exams. Project objectives and expected project results :1 – focus on modernization of the teaching methods with the help of implementation of the new technologies, 2 - follow the most successful European trends in education and pedagogy ,which means to learn the teaching/learning methodology from the best EU countries ,3 – focus on individual student learning skills and needs a/ with the aim to decrease the numbers of those leaving school prematurely , b/ and with the vision of Slovakia as the multicultural society / based on the present trends of the increasing numbers of migrants within the whole EU /s within EU,4 – improve the communication competences of the school staff in order to extend teaching/learning school subjects /like ITC,History,Arts,physics,maths / in foreign languages /CLIL/ to make our students more flexible and more successful in application for the universities within EU, which would lead to their acceptance of the whole EU as their natural living and working space .Project participants : 1member of management, 4 teachers` staff members / ITC ,English and Culture,English and Pedagogy,English and international co-operation /.Planned activities to cover project objectives : structures courses /English and Culture,ICT and English,Enhancing leadership in Education,Individual motivation of students/,study school visits focusing on individualised learning,study visit and job shadowingin special secondary school.To carry out the project :the international co-operation of teachers and students will be extended,the series of in-service workshops for school staff will be organised and the gained knowledge and skills will be implemented into new curriculum. The short -termsurvey of the students impact will be done at the end of 2018yr.The long-term benfits will be checked by internal research and survey focusing on students results in above -mentioned priorities.Expected results: The series of project acticvities should lead to modern and more effective teaching and the school itself will gainhigher reputation in the local community and among the possible students.The teachers will be motivated to improve their academic profiles.
