The E.T.F.J.A. Project is a mobility project that was dedicated to 24 VET Learners having full training within KBM Training and Recruitment’s practical accountancy courses. KBM Training and Recruitment’s training strategy is based on a mixture of teaching and work-based learning.
The new challenge for this Erasmus Plus project was to involve participants who are just discovering the accountancy sector and the potentiality of employment in the United Kingdom and in the rest of the world.
In accordance with the recommendation of the European Commission, the E.T.F.J.A. Project gave priority to learners that are most in need and mainly to students from ethnic minorities. One of the project’s aims was to strengthen the chances of employability to all participants with financial, social and cultural disadvantages due to their economical situation.
The E.T.F.J.A. Project’s participants had the possibility to experience an 8-week traineeship within the accountancy sector both in Dublin and in Malta, hosted by private companies and public bodies.
English has been the main language during this mobility for communication, whilst in Malta the participants had the possibility to learn the basics of the Maltese language.
To sustain the integration within the country’s culture, all participants were hosted within host-family accommodation. KBM Training and Recruitment supported all services during the mobility to all participants such as:
• Preparation and Training;
• Flight Tickets;
• Transfers from and to destination airport;
• Adequate insurance coverage as per guidelines of the EU Commission;
• Local bus transportation;
• Local host-family accommodation (including meals).
The duration of the mobility started from May 2015 until December 2015.
Each group was made of 4 participants and were prepared before the mobility with:
• A refresher course on their Accountancy Skills;
• Cultural awareness and preparation focusing on the hosting destination and its main peculiarities.
The E.T.F.J.A. Project’s objectives were:
• Support VET Learners in acquiring practical experience in a specific professional sector, whilst acquiring competences, knowledge and other skills, with a view to improve their personal development and employability in the European labour market;
• Strengthen the social inclusion and integration whilst making the participants aware of other countries’ culture and of their European citizenship;
• Improve communication and sharing of good practices within the European space;
• Apply elements of ECVET and validate credits acquired during the period of mobility, to ensure better recognition of competences gained through the learning periods abroad;
• Reinforce synergies and transition between formal, non-formal education and vocational training.
On top of this, the E.T.F.J.A. Project pursues the following priorities that are described within the introduction chapters of "Education and Training" and "Youth" in Part B of the “Erasmus+ Programme Guide” of the European Commission:
1) Developing basic and transversal skills in all fields of education and training.
2) Developing partnerships between education and employment (VET provider in cooperation with small and medium size companies.
Project’s expected results:
• Enhancing employability and improving career prospects;
• Increasing sense of initiative and entrepreneurship;
• Increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem;
• Enhancing intercultural awareness and more participation in society;
• Increasing awareness of the potentiality of European project and of the EU values linked to it;
• Increasing motivation for taking part in future formal/non-formal education or training once the mobility has come to an end;
• Improving the recognition and the validation of the competences acquired.
