European Reinforcing of VET Learning Outcomes

This Project has developed fully, providing 30 traineeships for Learners and 14 for the Staff from CENFIM, in 8 mobility flows for the trainees and 10 mobility flows for the staff, throughout 5 countries: Germany, Belgium, Spain, Finland and Lithuania.
Although we had tried our best to involve EFA trainees (Adult Education and Training), our intermediate Partners encountered many difficulties on finding Host companies for them, that’s the reason the majority of the Learners Participants (28 out of 30) are from the last year of the Apprenticeship course, and only 2 of the EFA course. Their ages range from 17 to 29, the average age is 20. From the 30 Learners, 28 youths attended on-the-job tranning in industrial companies.
These mobilities were recognized as “Practical training in workplace”, a compulsory part in their course curricula. For this reason the mobilities were evaluated according to the learning criteria at CENFIM. All the learners had good evaluation result; there were even some merit cases.
The Staff mobilities were focused on visits to homologous institution of CENFIM, with whom CENFIM has collaboration in other projects, and they now are intermediate Partners for the trainees’ motilities as well. So, it had not only been possible to know them better and to exchange experience within the context of industry and training in different European countries; but also allowed, coinciding the trip schedule, that staff to accompany the learners’ mobilities first week, in order to support their integration and the organizational issues of their placements. In 3 out of 10 Host Institutions, it had been possible to make approach to the development of some common projects in the domain of ECVEC.
Summary:
In the course of the mobilities, all the Participants had the opportunity to test their competences, on one hand, and to gain new knowledge, on the other hand.
This Project embraced 5 European countries: Germany, Finland, Spain, Lithuania and Belgium. It involved 10 VET institutions and 15 Companies. As the cooperation between us has been successful, so that mobilities have obtained satisfactory outcome. We can also conclude that this project has helped to promote the cooperation and the dialogue between Training organizations and Companies that received the trainees.
We would like to underline that we tried to provide to the learners real professional experience, through on-the-job training in companies, instead of in VET institutions, and in common context, as we consider that this solution can bring much more enriching personal and professional experience. The searching and the interaction with the industrial foreign companies were quite demanding tasks, but the intermediation of our Partners in the host countries had been efficient, surely due to previous collaboration experience with them, and this allowed almost all the trainees profited from unforgettable and useful experience.
The results of this project are VERY satisfactory. The increase of motivation of the Participants is clear, they has improved their experience and knowledge, what will surely benefit their future life, in regards of profession as well as European citizen.
We can consider that the objectives of this project are achieved, it was registered:
- Increase and enlarge (through on-the-job training) of professional competences and skills, aimed at the label market.
- Cultural enrichment through direct contact with the life, heritage and involved institutions, and the society of the host countries.
- Raise of the social skills, so to promote a more cohesive society and greater sense of European citizenship.
- Promotion of the transnational cooperation, namely with other VET institutions and businessl entities, at the level of CENFIM staff, and of itself.
- Fostering the learning of languages and the development of communication skills.
- Fostering and increasing the personal motivation for the Learning, as these mobilities acted as merit prize for the Participants, selected out of the universe of 3000 eligible trainees in the Apprenticeship.
