European Orientation and Mobility and Autonomy in the Daily Living Network

The quality of the rehabilitation of visually impaired depends on the quality of training of professionals in visual impairment.The two professional in rehabilitation of visual impaired people are the Orientation and Mobility Instructor (OM) and Instructor Autonomy in Daily Life (ADL). While the needs are the same in each country (acquired by visually impaired people of independent mobility and activities of daily living), the contents of the job, training in these trades are very different today Europe.European seminars with training centers were held until 2002. They have aimed to harmonize existing formations.This work has never been successful, the harmonization of training is not yet existing.The objective in this project is now set up a system of recognition of prior learning and qualifications between countries , through the development and transfer of credits .The approach will be multi- stakeholders ( users , professionals, hospitality, government , training centers , ... ) and by sector , to ensure full transparency of qualifications.The implementation of this recognition will enable mobility of trainees in initial or continuing training , and will subsequently the mobility of professionals , even thinking about a European recognition of professional experience .The project brings together key partners from 3 countries (Germany, Spain, France) , which provide training for OM and ADL, and associated partners representing users or professionals.During the implementation of the WP , neighboring countries will also be associated with trade (8 additional countries)
