Problems addressed• Cross-border practices are emerging throughout Europe, and require an appropriate training organisation for the practices and requirements of the Interreg programmes financing them.• There are many sources of training for cross border cooperation - these require organisation and adaptation for cross border professions and activities. • An extremely diverse range of initiatives for research into the cross border area have been set up - these should be connected up to the realities in the field and concrete projectsObjectives• Increasing the professionalism of the organisations and individuals involved in cross border cooperation via the development of initial or ongoing training initiatives• Enabling cross border professionals to carry out exchanges regarding their practices by means of the transmission and appropriation of best practice and expertise, and linking up researchers and organisations active in the territories.• Collectively and progressively developing a shared culture for transfer to the new EU member states. Approach and methodology• The capitalization - by networking among experts - of training facilities and accompanying resource centres.• Boosting professionalism by creating training modules. • The development of research corresponding to practice in the field. Expected Results: • A web site with a resource centre on cross-border trainings and cross-border relations between universities. • The creation of experimental modules / trainings transferable to other borders.• The generation of theoretical concepts regarding cross-border professions and improvements in the quality of organisations.
