The project will identify the existing measures and materials for supporting environmental skills in vocational training in the fishery and marine transport sector and will develop an educational platform defining the thematic components to be tested in a certification process related to the above sectors. It will also develop an internet-based certification system based on knowledge screening, education and final testing. The target groups are key staff workers in the fishery and marine transport sectors, but results will be transferable to other maritime branches, e.g. petroleum off shore, rescue companies, marine branches of the military sector etc. The results will include a combined learning and testing tool and the European Marine Education Certificate for basic marine environment competence. The theoretical platform and certification test will be available in the Internet.
