The project "European House in Guria" took place in Western Georgia, Guria region, Ozurgeti town. The organization Student Youth Council hosted 2 volunteers, Krist?ne and Kristaps, from Latvia for the period of 9 months (October, 2014 - June, 2015).
The main objectives of the project were:

2) to establish bridges of communication between volunteers` home countries and the hosting country;
3) to stimulate volunteers' as active citizens and provide them an informal inter-cultural education experience.
Wide range of the activities (workshops, information campaigns, cultural, education events connected with European topics, sport and art activities for youth clubs and children) have helped participants of the project to find new contacts, develop the steps for personal development and professional career and be the Europeans despite of originality of nations. Volunteers were mostly forking in the All these activities were connected with European culture, the mutual understanding among the volunteers and Georgian youth. Both volunteers had developed their personal activities they were responsible for carrying out through all the activity. Kristaps Bogdanovi?s was taking care about organization of basketball youth teams that had reached good results even on national level. Meanwhile the Krist?ne ?ulberga was more engaged in organising art workshops in local youth centres and kindergardens. Both together were working on promotion of Erasmus+ possibilities and EVS in particular.
Volunteers increased the interest of foreign cultures and languages, tried to break some stereotypes and as a result - help the youth and children, to develop tolerance to other people.
Also, the priorities of the Erasmus + -Youth in Action Programme were fulfilled through this project? the volunteers realized their own projects and could influence the community by this way and also involve Georgian volunteers to participate in this project. Youth in Europe are much more involved in non-formal education than in Georgia and volunteers tried to smooth over these differences promoting European awareness by this way.
At the local level in the hosting country the volunteers took part in everyday life of the hosting organization and city of Ozurgeti therefore the intercultural exchange in local community was strengthen by the cooperation of Latvian volunteers with other volunteers hosted by Student youth council and the local youth and simple inhabitants of Ozurgeti who took part in the events organized within the project, such as European day on 9 of May or in the TV programme "Discover Europe Together" lead by the hosting organization.
