European Family Law

In modern world we can see significant increase in international family relationships associated with different national law systems on various grounds, which, in turn, increases the number of conflict issues.This concerns the application of legislation in marriage, marriage contract, alimony agreement, enforce child support, property regime established by the law and other issues. Undergraduate law students, who in future will work in law enforcement agencies, such as the Court, guardianship authorities and other, need to know the European family law to provide legal assistance or decision according to law. The lack of harmonization of family law causes obstacles to free people movement and do not promote creation of comfortable legal space for family relations. Large differences between national legal systems within European Union and Russia constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a decision that satisfies both parties. As a result, we are faced with problems with foreign adoption, child abduction by one spouse and etc. Study European family law in Russian universities able to solve problems noted under. Main objectives:- development university course in European family law;- development complex of learning tools for European family law;- introduction developed course and learning tools to the educational process;- training legal professionals;- public awareness in European family law;- quality control and monitoring project implementation.Project activities:study visit to Universite Catholique de Lille; development series of lectures on European family law; development learning tools for support teaching – learning process;teaching OSU law students; training courses for practicing law professionals in Orenburg; participation in scientific and practicalconferences in Russia; roundtable debate on European family law in Orenburg; workshops for practicing family law professionals.
