European experience of innovative culture and intellectual property relations: communicative aspects

The “European experience of innovative culture and intellectual property relations: communicative aspects” (EICIPRC) module aims to promote EU studies in the area of innovative culture and intellectual property (IP). The overall objective will be achieved by delivering 3 courses “European experience of Innovative culture in Mediacommunications”, “European and homeland experience of IP in Mediacommunications”, “Innovative English language Mediacommunications in EU: role and functions”. The module will run for 3 consequent years till 2019.The module is addressed to students of the master programme “Mediacommunications in Advertising and PR”, who do not normally come into contact with EU Studies. Such a particular focus on EU aspects will enrich the existing curricular courses: “Methodology of formation of Innovative culture”, “Philosophy of IP in advertising” and “Social-philosophical aspects of moral rights involved in copyright”. These courses were introduced as a result of the Module leader research under Erasmus Mundus TRIPLE I mobility in 2011. The research project was devoted to comparison of Russian and Finnish IP in the informational activity. Other preliminary work was fulfilled by the Module leader as the Leader of the master program “Mediacommunications” in UdSU.Teaching methods involve traditional lectures, problem solving seminars and other interactive sessions, e.g. fieldtrips to the Business-incubator in Udmurtia.The academic added value to the project is the increased amount of teaching given in English and increased internationalization of non-mobile students due to increased knowledge on the EU.Besides the course offerings, the module will reach other target groups (researchers, postgraduate students, professional groups, and civil society representatives) through 3 roundtables, publications, e.g. article in the "Vestnik UdSU".The main outcomes are positive students’ and lecturers’ opinion towards EU.
