European cyclotourism Educational program
Date du début: 1 janv. 2014,

The project aims at developing and piloting a set of ICT tools and an innovative model for the recognition and use of informal competences for developing and advancing cyclotourism in the involved territories as a pilot for Europe. EuBikE proposes to integrate skills of tourism providers and the informal competences of cyclotourist associations for development of cyclotourism products. This would result in several benefits: - Tourism providers will become more equipped to create products appealing to a growing community, which would increase their success in the market; - The informal competences of cycling associations will be recognised and used with potential to become employment qualifications; - New high quality cyclotourism products adapted and appreciated by the emerging cyclotourist community will be co-produced through knowledge integration of tourism providers and cycling associations. The project will reach its objectives by producing a number of tangible and usable results. First a comprehensive report on cyclotourism development models existing today in EU involved countries and structuring innovation along unexplored and informal competences of key stakeholders that are relevant for the local development. Second, an ICT based learning model – the eDucation Box aiming at connecting actors to co-develop cyclotourism products. This model, provided that the stakeholders involved are willing to take it into account, can definitely increase the level of innovation and local competences, in line with the EU2020 objectives for growth and employment. Third, four national pilot experiences that will involve at least 80 between tourism providers and cycling associations testing the eDucation Box and at least 200 cyclotourists that will review and test the cyclotourist products. Fourth, the Transferability Plan will provide the sustainable legacy of the project, able to result in a long-term operation in support to tourism innovation in Europe.
