European Cosplay Academy
Date du début: 15 août 2014, Date de fin: 15 déc. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

During their long term experience, partner organizations have found that Japanese cultural elements and their promotion is a constructive way for dialogue and mutual understanding for young people from different cultural backgrounds. They have noticed that young people that are interested in Japanese traditional and pop culture tend to be more open and more easily approachable when it comes to learning about other, especially European, cultures. Different organizations interested in Japanese cultural phenomenas found many interesting ways to cooperate and support the learning process of young people, which involves building cultural awareness, tolerance education, employing with many skills and competences, including those that could be used for future employment/bussiness in creative industries. So the objective of this project emerges out from both the interest and the experience of the partner organizations - to provide young people from different European countries with a space to learn about other European cultures, promote creativity and thus employability in the field that they have most interest. The connecting element to foster dialogue and counter unemployment is chosen to be Japanese costume phenomena - Cosplay. Project will gather 27 participants from 5 countries - Poland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden and Lithuania. During a week full of interaction, sharing and learning participants will not only participate in different workshops that promote the intercultural dialogue, creativity and entrepreneurship, but develop their own mini Cosplay projects and will present them for the local community at the festival "nowJapan". Fully equipped with new competencies and motivation, participants will disseminate the results of the project back in their home countries by communicating the related information, photos and videos via different media channels as well as gathering the local youth to tell them about their experiences and inspire for the initiatives.
