EuroCatHos will provide a language teaching and training course for use in the professional hospitality sectors of reception, kitchen and restaurant service. It will target teachers and users in Lifelong Learning sub-programmes Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus and Grundtvig.It will be available online in 11 languages, EN, FR, ES, NL, NO, GL, DE, FI, IT, PL, GA with pertinent cultural input, Common European Framework at Levels A1-A2. It will define learning outcomes and provide module descriptors, exercises, dialogues and assessments in each sector using visual, aural and written format. Attractively packaged and freely accessible, it will increase the motivation of language learners for the acquisition of new and specialised skills. EuroCatHos will be adaptable and scalable for the users (learners, teachers and content providers). The framework will allow us to offer several environments (learner-controlled, teacher-defined, remedial, administrative and intelligent tutoring) with a source code and data structure that will be as generic as possible. It will be designed by experts in languages, linguistic technology, hospitality and customer care management and based on their experience in working with the target groups. Following on from 3 European Language Label Awards for EuroCatering, EuroCatHos will be promoted from Nov 2010 as a focused up-to-date pedagogy at workshops, conferences, through our website, media and online networks. EuroCatHos will be available to establishments developing curricula, to centres providing initial or continuing training for language teachers, to centres providing training for professional development and up-skilling for the unemployed and those in retraining.
