The project „Europe supports inclusion 2“ will take place in the capital city of the Croatia - Zagreb. Main objective of the project is to support Roma inclusion in Croatia. Specific objectives are to raise awareness in society about problems faced by Roma and supporting empowerment of Roma community. ISn achieving of this objectives we want to include international volunteers, who can contribute to this with their motivation and knowledge and skills. The project will host 3 long-term volunteers who will conduct the EVS activity in the Roma National Council, which will implement this project in cooperation with three organizations from Irleand, Sweden, Serbia.The Roma National Council (RNC) is an umbrella Roma organization which promotes human and minority rights and works on the inclusion of Roma in Croatia while protecting their historical and cultural heritage and promoting their identity. The Roma National Council has already implemented a variety of activities and thereby gathered vast experience in the areas of policy making, advocacy and networking, youth work as well as in immediate project work on Roma issues. Therefore the project will be implemented specifically in order to contribute to the process of Roma inclusion in Croatia. Within the project the volunteers will work on raising awareness in the society about the problems faced by Roma and they will support the efforts of the Roma National Council in general in advocating for the rights of the Roma national minority and in empowerment of the Roma community.The volunteers will be involved in the range of activities run by the RNC. One of the specific tasks of the three volunteers will be preparation and implementation of the workshops in the schools in Croatia, under the supervision. Workshops will be implemented with the aim of raising awareness of the students about the inequality and about the diversity. Beside this, the volunteers will together organize at least one street activity.They will be involved in writing of article for the website on the topic of situation of Roma in their own country, writing articles for the portal ROMI.HR, in project implementation, they will participate in the field visits to the Roma associations etc. Volunteers will implement his/her personal project and will be encouraged and advised by the supervisor in the process of project design and implementation.We are looking for young volunteers (18-30 years old) that are open-minded and have strong sense for humanity and equality. They should be able and willing to work in a team and be open for advice and have basic interest in human rights. Strong interest in NGO work and activism would be an advantage.The RNC will provide an accommodation for the volunteers in the apartment and take care of all necessary arrangements and buy monthly passes for public transport. The volunteers will receive monthly food allowance and the pocket money. The RNC will organize linguistic support for the volunteers and ensure volunteer's enrollment in the EVS insurance programme. The atmosphere in the RNC is very open, friendly. In case of emergency the volunteer will have the private numbers of at least their mentor and supervisor. Methodology which will be used in carrying out the project includes: 1. preparatory phases (focused on the developing of communication among partner organizations and between organizations and volunteers, as well as on preparation of the volunteer before departure), 2. execution (focused on the implementation of the EVS Activity, monitoring and dissemination of project results, evaluation) 3. project closure phases (evaluation of the overall project results, dissemination of project results).The expected impact on volunteers' professional development is deeper knowledge on human and minority rights and Roma issues on the European level, as well as the knowledge about the situation in Croatia and surrounding countries. The volunteers will expand his/her knowledge, skills and competences and that will empower them for further education or for job opportunities. Beside that, this project will have an impact on volunteer's personal development, as mentioned in the project description. The volunteer will contribute to the organization’s projects, activities and also discussions.The expected impact on the participating organizations is developed closer international cooperation - exchange of best practices, knowledge and experiences. Project will have impact on the inclusion of Roma in society in general. All activities implemented by the volunteers under this project (media appearances, articles, etc.) and particularly personal project, will contribute to the better understanding of problems of Roma into society and of their position and reducing prejudices against Roma. Furthermore, volunteers work will indirectly have impact on the achieving of rights of the Roma national minority and empowerment of Roma in Croatia.
