Europe of Adolescent

"EuropAdo" is born from the will of Belgian, Polish, Spanish and Romanian partners. This project intends to favour the openness of young people and intercultural exchanges in order to bring a reflection on their own culture, their identity, on stereotypes and bias people may have towards the unknown. Our goal is also to use the mobility as a way of learning, so young people can become social actor, develop a sense of European belonging and have an interest in languages. This project will lead 40 young boys and girls aged from 13 to 18 years old to meet in Kruwiszcka in Poland where they will be supervised by 8 animators. A large part of these young people is disadvantaged either by the socio-economic situation of their family, or the geographical isolation from big towns (believed to bring better economic opportunities), schooling problems or the lack of opportunities. The exchange program includes 9 days of activities and 2 days of travel. The main theme of the project is the gathering around sport which is the universal language, especially for young people that don't have a lot of experience in practicing the English. We use sport as a vector that helps to make a step towards others, ease the openness and speaks to every young of any country. They will discover and share their regional and national sports. As a result, a "EuropAdo" sport will be created. Various workshops will be organized to discover each other's culture (through food, music, discussions, acting, folklore, etc). The methodologies we will use are based on informal learning and are in connection with active and participative pedagogy. We will also use the method of civic intelligences and we would like to develop an approach based on mutual learning. Thanks to this experience, we want our youngs to actually live the European feeling rather than tackling it through an abstract and theoritical approach. We want to encourage them to meet each other, to be tolerant regarding our differences and to be enthusiastic regarding our commonalities. We want them to become aware of the importance of languages and mobility for their future personal and professional life. In the long term, they will be more confident, they will have a better knowledge of themselves, a better openness to others and will be abble to talk about this experience as a way to live their dream by beleiving and building them.
