Europe for all, forever. Sustainability, Skills and Enterprise.
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project was established initially through the professional dialogue of the partner schools in England, the Czech Republic and Germany. In previous projects, certain themes had been touched upon and we wanted the opportunity to develop our understanding of those themes within this project. We feel very lucky to have partners which we have worked with before in our application for this project, and also to have new partners who share our vision. We approached St Joseph's in Ireland through prior involvement with the East-West project, and the co-ordinator from the Italian school approached us, and put us into contact with the school in France. All partners were involved in a discussion about the aims and the themes of this project. Participants from Germany, the Czech Republic and England met in Germany to put together the bid. Regular communication between all schools confirmed to us that this project 'Europe for all, forever. Sustainability, Skills and Enterprise' was integral to the action planning and future development of all our school, and indeed to the national priorities of us all. The objectives for this project are surrounding the themes of: - early education -the development of key skills -removing barriers to education and employment -sustainability and environmental education -enterprise The different activities will enable a variety of different participants to engage both directly and indirectly with this project. We hope to engage a significant number of staff and pupils in each strand of the project, although careful differentiation will ensure that all pupils will access the activities presented to them. Dissemination of information during and after each activity will widen and deepen the impacts of the project beyond the people directly involved. Although the co-ordinator of the project will be directly responsible for it, there will be opportunity of other staff as well as students to attend multi lateral meetings and exchanges. The wider community will access information about the project through newsletters and publications. Each school will offer additional support and opportunities to other actors in the local area (whether inviting other schools in the local area to events, sharing good practice or by engaging local workplaces/higher education institutions in training). The impact of this project within the schools themselves will be significant, and will be wide reaching into the wider community. The activities in the project are linked together using the five trans national exchanges to anchor them. Each exchange has a theme which directly links to our key objectives. The other activities which precede or follow these exchanges will enhance, clarify and develop the learning at each event. This will create a cohesive approach and allow the project to flow and develop as it continues. The participants in each activity will be people with specific interests or expertise in these areas. They will be able to benefit directly from the preparation (in distilling their own personal philosophy) and from the event. Their knowledge and understanding will enhance that of their colleagues in a reflection after the activity. All participants will be able to obtain wide range of information and apply this to their home school. We have also planned for a wide range of pupil involvement, whether through mobility or activities within school. At the end of the project we expect that the results and impacts on each school will be: - staff, pupils and other actors showing greater intercultural understanding and enthusiasm for exchange - an improvement in literacy, numeracy, language and digital competences - developments made in the provision of early education (in all schools) as a direct result of the activity in Germany - amendments made to the teaching of key skills in reference to investigation into local employment markets - links established with the next stages of education and work places - a commitment made to reduce barriers to education (for example an enhancement in special needs provision, parental involvement or extra curricular activities) - a sustainable school with commitment to environmental education, 'green' attitudes and with national recognition of this (where available) - pupils will be committed to developing their own skills to be successful and will have enhanced skills to support them in this The long term benefits of this project are numerous. All of the previously mentioned results and impacts are long term gains for the school. By involving as many pupils and staff members in the project as possible, any amendments made to practice in light of this project will be integrated into every aspect of each school. As well as this amending staff behaviour this means we'll also have resilient learners who are more focused on their employment opportunities and about making the most of their time at school. We will have also developed strong and long-lasting links.
