The project EuRoPe Design is a mobility project for learners and will be carried out by 3 partner institutions: Liceul Tehnologic Petricani (a VET highschool from Petricani, Romania, as sending organization), SubMeet Assocaition (as intermediary organisation) and Rossi Camiceria (as host organization). The beneficiary institution, Liceul Tehnologic Petricani is a rural technical high-school offering professional training for the students from Petricani, Boistea, Tarpesti, Tolici and other villages. The project was developed in order to reach the objectives of the EDP and internationalization strategy of the institution for the school years 2014-2016. It aims to contribute at the Erasmus + program objectives by rising the number of beneficiaries from rural areas and the inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities. The project will involve 19 students (national qualification level 3 - fashion design technician and level 2 - textile industry workers). All the participants can be considered as having fewer opportunities because they are confronting with geographical, social and financial obstacles. All of them are living in rural area, most of them are coming from big and/or poor families. The local cultural life is under developed and the distance to the nearst big city is over 40 km. The local labour market requests are looking favourable for them, as many SMEs working in the field of textile industry are looking for highly qualified persons, especially in the field of clothes design (CAD projection, sketching, etc.) and they will be the first generation of fasion designers. Anyway, they need to acquire competences that can make the difference between them and the local labour market offer. The project was designed to help the students to get a set of key, technical general and technical specialized competences that can improve their employability chances and broaden their professional opportunities. As an example, the English and Italian language communication skills acquired during the preparation activities and during the placement itself, together with broadly known recognition and certification tools (Europass Mobility certificates, Europass CV and language passport) will increase their chances of being integrated on the European labour market. Raising motivation and self confidence, developing a set of key and technical competences, improving quality and atractiveness of VET education, encouraging students to continue their professional training after finishing their compulsory education are the most important of our project objectives. All the tasks for each partner organization, the competences and the envisaged results were framed into the Memoranda of Understanding. The main activities undertaken before the mobility will be: information and selection of the participants by the sending organization, prepartory activities (linguistic, cultural and task-related), elaboration of Learning Agreements, practical arrangements (including a video-conference with the intermediary organization). For the placement itself (4 weeks long), the students were splited in two flows (the level 3 students in February-March 2015, and level 2 students in April-May) and they will participate at practical activities (6h/day) and cultural visits, following a program tailor-made for them. The host organization, Rossi is a 40 years of tradition company in San Salvo, Italy, specialized in shirts design and exectutions. The qualified personnedl, having good English language skils and experience in VET placement will train, evaluate and monitor the participants. The intermediary organization will offer practical support and will organize the cultural visits. After the placement, the Europass Mobility certificates and the certificates from host organization will be issued. As follow-up activities, the students will be enrolled into some wokforce companies database and will elaborate personal professional portfolios. The dissemination strategy includes a website, promotional materials and focus on the online professional vet community and relevant target groups. For the project management team a specialized software/platform as Collabtive or Gantt Project will be used. Among the project final products and results will be: the course supports from the preparatory activities, evaluation and monitoring tools used, the website and informative materiales, the results of the students work (shirts, sketches portfolios), a photo album and internal reports. All the relevant resources will be awailable for free on the website of the project. As medium and long term benefits, we anticipate that the number of the students dropping aut school after finishing the gymnasium or compulsory education will decrease, the general qualification level of the local population will be higher and the activity of the local SMEs will be improved , as they will be able to execute more complex and well paid operations .
