Europe around Gender Equality

The project “Europe Around Gender Equality” is a training course in the field of gender equality and European citizenship, for youth workers and youth leaders. The importance of this training course arise from the needs, among youth workers and youth leaders, to increase their knowledge about issues like gender equality and non-discrimination, there is also the need to promote professional development and career development of youth workers and leaders and to motivate them for their daily work. The project goals are to raise the level of youth workers and leaders knowledge’s regarding gender equality in Europe, work methodologies with youth people about these issues and to disseminate good practices in the countries involved in the project. We also want to raise awareness of youth workers and leaders for issues like European citizenship and the right to non-discrimination. During 8 days, 28 youth workers and youth leaders, older than 18 years old, volunteers or not, and coming from Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Poland and France will discuss gender equality. The activities are based in non-formal education methodologies like oral presentations, group discussions, small group work, research, reflection groups, cultural visits and change of experience and good practices in such different realities like those from the participants’ countries. Regarding results, we want to create a digital edition about gender equality and youth work methodologies and build a collaborative learning platform where participants and their organisations can disseminate activities, switch experiences, raise their level of knowledge and plan future projects. Regarding the project impact, we want to increase the professional skills levels' of youth workers and youth leaders in gender equality field, develop their transversal skills and plan future projects under Erasmus+ programme.
