Europe 2020: The EU's Opportunities and Challenges
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The objective of the Jean Monnet Chair in the Institute of Sociology is to stimulate teaching, research and reflection in the field of the EU studies and to embed “European courses” into the curricula of non-business humanistic and social science education at the University. The Chair offers courses that provide students (who have had no contact with EU studies) with a general knowledge on social, political and economic aspects of the EU as well as more particular issue the "Europe 2020" Strategy. The project is coherent because all activities: teaching, research, dissemination, website, workshops etc. regard the “Europe 2020” Strategy and all are connected. Students are expected to gain better understanding of the crucial role that the EU plays in creating a knowledge based and sustainable economy. All six courses will refer to 155 students per year and will consist of 154 hours per year. The teaching activity will be based on interactive methods which involve students in the process. Every academic year there will be organised workshops, conferences and other events with the participation of students, scholars, decision makers and NGOs, that will be an opportunity to create a network of young people and practitioners. The Chair will promote innovation in teaching and research such as multidisciplinary studies, on-line courses, open educational resources, webinar etc. All teaching materials, research outcomes and information will be available on the special website for purposes of knowledge dissemination and promotion of the Jean Monnet Chair activity. The overall impact of this project will be far-reaching, because it will create a community of students, academics and others that can stimulate research and reflection on the EU issues, particularly "Europe 2020" Strategy, it will enhance awareness on European integration and in near future the Chair will be turn into a European integration study center.
