Apprentices/trainees of various IT-professions get the chance at their school to apply for a three week internship in England in order to work in local IT-companies while staying with host families.The objective of this project is both to foster the participants´ intercultural awareness and their social skills and language performance in a working life situation. Thus it may decrease the fear of entering a place against the background of international job offers and chances.For two periods of time teachers are going to accompany the apprentices. Individual wishes as regards dates and organization are possible after all.Trip 1: Sunday 02.10.16 – Sunday 22.10.16 (max. 23 participants)Trip 2: Sunday 23.10.16 – Sunday 12.11.16 (max 23 participants)Teachers of CSBME are going to accompany the two groups on both trips, i.e. teachers and students will be travelling together to Bristol. After their arrival students will be picked up by their host families. The next day the project is going to start with an introductory seminar which in detail covers intercultural communication in your job. After this students are going to start work at their internship companies.The places for internships in British companies can be either organized by the students or teachers themselves or by a local partner. The same is true for finding adequate host families.The English partner is actively involved in the introductory session. During the first week of the internship the accompanying teachers will be visiting their students at their workplace in the company. Both students and teachers are going to set up a plan for the remaining time and the realization of learning objectives according to ECVET-standard in England.After the internship has been finished there is going to be a feedback seminar.The internship is prepared during lessons, in interviews and in joint prep meetimgs.
