AusTraining operates as an intermediatory as well as receiving organisation for Erasmusplus projects in the sector of vocational education and training. With this project, we would also like to be active as a sending organisation, providing young people an opportunity for an internship abroad, who so far have not been reached by previous mobility projects. We plan to send 12 students, who are going through formal training in the tourism and hotel management sector (4 cooks, 4 waiters and 4 receptionists), to our partner organisation APAF in Northern Italy in April next year. APAF is a leading European institution of professional training for the tourism and hotel industry in form of a boarding school. The participants are able to get to know the preparation of Italian dishes and meet service standards of the hightest level. Thus, they do not only gain new professional expertise, they also deepen their language skills and are able to develop their character. In the first instance, the project adresses young people, who so far have not had access to mobility activities or who are disadvanted in another way. They can apply to us directly in a nationwide call for applicants. Thus, they gain an opportunity to take advantage of all the benefits a practice orientated stay abroad provides. They become more attractive for the job market and are able to find a job more easily after finishing their education. The call for applicants is supposed to take place in September this year, the selection procedure is set next January. We are going to hold a preparatory meeting in March, before the journey, where the participants will have the chance to get to know each other. After the trip, a follow-up meeting with evalution is planned for May. With this project, we may broaden out activities and raise our popularity with our target groups. The participants gain a unique opportunity to go abroad to a European neighbour country, which provides them with long-term benefits.
