The succesful application has made it possible for 22 students of Deák F. Trade and Catering vocational school to addend a 4 week long (160 hours) professional practice abroad. 11-11 students travelled to Italy and Austria in the following division: -5 cooks from grade 10 -3 waiters from grade 10 -14 catering-organizers/restaurateurs from grade 13 and 14. We have changed the composition of the groups because there was a higher demand for restaurateurs (who learn to be waiters and cooks as well), and they proved to be the most suitable students in the process of selection. In Vien the students did their practical training at Hotel Accor Chain, In Italy in four different locations: Hotel Castello (Erba 3 students), Hotel Royal (Varenna, 2students), Hotel Saligari (Vercei, 4students), La Fiorida (2 students). The working language was German ang English too in Austria and English in Italy. There were 7 attendant teachers: in Austria 4 teachers, in Italy 3 teachers (broken down into 2 week - long periods) It was really important for our catering students to get experience in the features of international culture and cuisine furthermore to meet the habits and expectations of other nations as flexibility is the most important virtue of a good restaurateur. The students’ language proficiencly has become more confident due to spending time in foreign language enviroment. The selection and preparation of the students have been made for the agreed time. The students travelled in June 2015. Basically, both groups had a good time in the countries. In the meantime, besides the professional experiences the Austrian group have been formed into a community in the use of sharing tasks and spending free time together. The students have made reports on their practical training, which were listened by their schoolmates with interest. Most of the smallholders left the students get foreign experinces with pleasure. Due to the fact that our students have been able to spend their professional practice abroad in the course of Erasmus+ our school can be more popular among future candidates. Hopefully, the gained professional and human experience can help final year students in their employment possibilities.
