PROJET
TERMINÉ
This EVS project responds to that need of creating and multiplying bridges of mutual discovery, communication and intercultural exchanges between Portuguese and Moroccan youngsters who will work together on useful and voluntary actions. This short-term EVS project will take place from August 1-31st, 2016 and it will especially target 10 youngsters aged 17-30 years with fewer opportunities (educational difficulties; social, geographical and economic obstacles, and cultural differences) sent by its partner organisation from Portugal, MEDesTU, whose mission is aligned with this project. The objectives of this project are:1. To promote non-formal learning and cooperation in the field of youth with the Partner Countries, in specific with Morocco;2. To support the volunteers in the acquisition of learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences) with a view to improving their personal development, their involvement as considerate and active citizens in society and their employability in the European labour market and beyond;3. Enhance lifelong learning and mobility of young people with fewer opportunities;4. Improve the effectiveness and quality of education, in particular, non-formal education;5. Promoting equity, social cohesion, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue and more active participation in society in order to foster inclusion, respect and a better acceptance of diversity, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc., and to prevent violent radicalization;6. To foster active citizenship and solidarity of all young people and intercultural and peer learning;7. Promote opportunities for intercultural awareness, experience and learning European values, such as respect for human dignity; equality, human rights, tolerance, non-discrimination, justice, solidarity and equality between men and women. Volunteers will have a privileged contact with indoor and outdoor contexts which could allow volunteers interesting learning in terms of knowing how to deal and be in a world increasingly plural and diverse;8. Promote the volunteers self-empowerment and self-esteem by involving them in the implementation of joint tasks in an independent and challenging way;9. To enhance the participants' foreign languages competence, especially of English and Arabic;10. Raise the volunteers’ awareness to the understanding of Moroccan culture and reality. During the summer, the HO organizes activities with their members who do not have the opportunity to travel for vacation. This project will allow them to live new and useful experiences through meeting the Portuguese volunteers, and to share activities and cultural workshops;11. Encourage the Portuguese volunteers to share their culture and country, as ambassador;12 - Raise awareness to environment and climate change issues, by actively work in the nature. There will be 3 types of activities:1. Taking part of volunteer and useful actions for local community.2. Workshops of intercultural and non-formal education.3. Activities or workshops proposed by the Portuguese volunteers and the Moroccan youngsters. The methodology will consist on informal and non-formal learning. Participative methods will be used, attending to the volunteers’ needs, contributions and expectations and feedback, relying on a co-design and co-management basis between the partner organisations and the volunteers. Volunteers will be invited to self-reflect upon their learning, using a logbook. The final results reached within one month are both tangible and intangible results.1. Tangible: the developed activities (workshops), testimonies (news in 4 different languages, promotional materials such as the flyers, 10 Youthpass certificates, a gallery of photos), clipping of press releases and magazine Associar+ articles, a website resulting from the project;2. Intangible: all the learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and attitudes) of immeasurable value that were brought to light by this intercultural experience. Despite the fact that there’s a short-term EVS, it’s expected that this experience promotes the self-empowerment of these youngsters with fewer opportunities, enhancing their employability and motivating them to engage in a long-term EVS and other Erasmus+ projects. The impact on the target groups (youth, in specific), the other stakeholders and the community in general, they will benefit from the fostering of intercultural mind-sets and competences through the initiatives implemented, by encouraging active citizenship and youth participation, from the promotion of a true Euro-Mediterranean dialogue, from the deconstruction of prejudices and the raising awareness of the European values.
