This project takes place within the New European Mobility Frame ERASMUS+. Our organization has a broad experience in students’ mobility but this project is more ambitious: we intend to give a European dimension to our strategic mobility project, addressing teacher´s mobility through teacher´s training and observation of experiences in vocational training centres in the region of Midi Pyrenees as well as contact innovative companies in the personal image sector that have been developed in an engine of fashion country such as Italy.
For this reason, we have expanded our project asking for spreading out in two activities:
-1 The mobility of Personal Image field Intermediate Level Vocational Training students ´ through a stay of 4 weeks in established enterprises which take part in our own mobility project of students.
-2 Job-showing Training action visiting leading companies in the personal image sector in order to gather information on innovative methodologies to consolidate the innovative project of the centre in the area of Hairdressing and Aesthetics.
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPATING STUDENTS.
In the first activity we asked for a 4 week stay for 8 INTERMEDIATE LEVEL students because we believe it is an enriching experience to know the professional and cultural surroundings of a cosmopolitan city in Italy but combining it with the internship in enterprises in Gipuzkoa.
In the second activity we counted on the Chamber of Trade’s collaboration in the region of Áude and its Director to visit leading companies in MIDI PYRENEES, but we have visited a centre in Bologna specialized in innovation in the field of Hairdressing and Aesthetics. This way we can apply new techniques and best practices in the intermediate Hairdressing and Aesthetics courses.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES
The activities of the first action have been carried out by the students in some selected Beauty and Hair Salons in Paris and Narbona. It is a consolidated program and we have a previously designed plan in order to follow up the students´ internship.
In the second activity, members of the mobility team of the school contacted partners in schools who would help them visit facilities and participate in the development of innovative techniques in the field of Hairdressing and Aesthetics. These techniques may be introduced in the different subjects of Intermediate Vocational Training Courses in IES Monte Albertia BHI Zarautz.
METHODOLOGY OF THE PROJECT
The methodology is different in each action, in the first activity, we developed a teaching/learning method where the student would do their internships in enterprises.
In the second activity, the participant teachers developed a methodology of observation and collection of data for the implementation of innovative techniques in the classrooms and workshops IES Monte Albertia BHI.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RESULTS
The results have been reflected in the reports that the participants of each area will have to do.
The following up has been established in the deadlines marked by the project and the participating organizations have been contacted through the established channels of communication.
The expected impact of both activities is to improve the quality of teaching of our organization, to improve the preparation of our teachers, and to be receptive to the continuous changes that take place in our field always following the guidelines of the Vice-Minister for Educational Training of the Basque Government. We believe that having partners of the likes of Chambre des Metiers can bring great benefits to its projection in the region and highlight the reputation we have today in professional and teaching levels.
LONG TERM BENEFITS
The short term benefits have been for the participants, medium and long term benefits will be for the entire organization and its groups of interest, such as students, parents, business partners and participating associations. Summing up all the parties involved will benefit from it because strengthening the vocational training in state schools means to improve the quality of society as a whole. If we strengthen our relationship collaborating on the bidirectional exchange of students, linking our collaborative companies and exchanging innovative techniques, we will have strengthened the European dimension of the participating organizations and the personal Image sector.
