As Albania heads towards the next step of EU integration – opening of accession negotiations - one of the most important challenges Albanian society is facing today has to do with lack of understanding the EU Integration and the obligations stemming from this transformative process. The recent challenges of European Union such as Greek financial crisis, migrant and asylum seekers crisis have had impact in Albania as well. These European and regional prominent issues combined with expected launch of negotiations with the EU have grown even more the need for in-depth information to Albanian stakeholders who are directly affected by these processes. A series of qualitative and well- structured Workshops, which will combine theoretical, practical and shared knowledge, will address the most EU-related prominent issues in Albania and the region focused in EU accession chapters such as: public administration and judicial reform, the fight against organised crime and corruption, the protection of human rights and anti-discrimination policies, etc. The aim of the project EU Workshop Series is to bring together emerging leaders of Albania and young professionals coming from different sectors to discuss and share views on European Integration process, empower them to shape and influence policies in local, national and EU level and accordingly transfer the acquired knowledge into their working environment and wide public. Some of the expected result and impact: Increased information on EU policies and principles of 160 targeted Albanian public servants, civil society representatives, private entrepreneurs, academics, young professionals, journalists; Upgraded capacities and professional expertise of the participants concerning EU Integration process in Albania and Negotiation skills; Shared EU Enlargement expertise and practical case studies from 12 non-local experts.
