EU Volunteers to learn
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project proposal "EU volunteers to learn" emerges from the will to increase the volume and the quality of EVS mobility experiences for young volunteers from different EU countries. Asociatia Lumea lui Pinocchio (Romania, Applicant) is strongly convinced that such international volunteering experiences are powerful non-formal education opportunities for acquiring life skills, promoting personal well-being and professional growth. The enhancement of volunteers' competences increases attractiveness to potential employers, especially in a world where recent global phenomena strongly affected young generations and their equipment of skills and competences.Project partners: IJGD (DE), ESTYES (EE), Grenzenlos (AT), COCAT (ES), UNA Exchange (UK), Bulgarian Youth Forum (BG).The project's objectives are:- to promote EVS mobilities (short- and medium-term) for 10 EU volunteers, giving them the opportunity to live a non-formal education experience useful for their future;- to involve 10 EVS volunteers in the socio-educational activities of the Centre Pinocchio targeted at vulnerable children and youngsters, thus fostering important EU values (intercultural dialogue, fight against discrimination, social inclusion, peer opportunities) among youth;- to recognize individual learning outcomes and guarantee a good quality of the project's actions through the issuing of Youthpass Certificate;- to ensure visibility to Erasmus+ program and to young people's role in EU society through dissemination measures. The envisaged project's activities are 9 EVS mobilities (both short- and long-term volunteers, aged 18-30 y.o.); all EVS will take place in Panciu (jud.Vrancea, Romania), where the Applicant has its headquarters: a) A1: involvement of an EVS volunteer from EstoniaPeriod: July 2016 – January 2017 (7 months)b) A2: involvement of an EVS volunteer from UK (youngster with fewer opportunities)Period: July 2016 – August 2016 (2 months)c) A3: involvement of an EVS volunteer from SpainPeriod: September 2016 – March 2017 (7 months)d) A4: involvement of an EVS volunteer from AustriaPeriod: September 2016 – March 2017 (7 months)e) A5: involvement of an EVS volunteer from BulgariaPeriod: April 2017 – October 2017 (7 months)f) A6: involvement of an EVS volunteer from UKPeriod: April 2017 – September 2017 (6 months)g) A7: involvement of an EVS volunteer from SpainPeriod: August 2017 – February 2018 (7 months)h) A8: involvement of 2 EVS volunteers from GermanyPeriod: November 2017 – May 2018 (7 months)i) A9: involvement of an EVS volunteer from BulgariaPeriod: March 2018 – May 2018 (3 months)The 10 young volunteers will be involved in the socio-educational sector of the Daily Educational Centre Pinocchio, managed by the Applicant and targeted at 50 disadvantaged children and youngsters. A particular attention os always paid to those minors belonging to the local Roma minority, thus contributing to foster important EU values such as social inclusion, fight against discrimination and intercultural dialogue. All the envisaged activities will be based on two main approaches: “learning by doing” and a “competence-based approach”, that aims at making young people more and more aware of their learning achievements/potential to be developed. In order to recognize individual learning achievements, a Youthpass Certificate will be issued at the end of every EVS action. In order to spread project's activities and results, some specific dissemination measures have been envisaged: volunteers's articles, workshop in schools and other public sensitization events, publishing of project's album containing witnessings about the most relevant moments. The project will have a positive impact not only with the participants directly involved in the planned actions, but also on the beneficiaries of the different realities indirectly involved in the activities (the Centre Pinocchio and other local socio-educational institutions). The hope and the scope is that, on the long run, the mobility actions of "EU volunteers to learn" will be the basis for possible future projects and initiatives in the European youth field.
