Etnoproject - let's do it
The project was initiated by young people wishing to increase their knowledge in their origin, traditions, customs, language, literature. Ethnography as a scientific discipline dealing with overall descriptions and analysis of folk cultures of different communities and ethnic groups will help us to understand the reality in which we live. Its scope covers the theory of culture and the study of its individual branches and its products; therefore it is significant to discuss this issue during the project. The activities will be based on the knowledge of partner countries by presenting each of the country's ethnographic structure, customs, traditions, literature.
- Extend one’s knowledge in the cultural and social specificity of selected groups and regions in Poland, Europe and the world;
- Increasing the ability to organize projects
- Enlargement in the understanding of the mechanisms of the phenomena of exclusion and discrimination
- Increasing the knowledge about the role of ethnography in the lives of Europeans
- Deepen the knowledge of the partner countries in terms of ethnography
- Increasing the knowledge of the cultural diversity in Europe
- Getting to know Polish, Dutch, v. UK culture in terms of tradition, music, costumes, games, superstitions, and ways to celebrate
-Integration of the European community
- Extend the knowledge of the diversity of society within one country, for example the countries participating in the project
- Increasing the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities
- Increase the quality of work with young people, in particular by strengthening cooperation
Organizations in the field of youth
- Increasing the international dimension for youth activities and the role of youth workers and organizations
- Escalate awareness of the European Union citizenship
- Develop basic and interdisciplinary skills such as entrepreneurship multilingualism in the field of youth
-Improving the knowledge in foreign languages among participants;
-Increasing the motivation to participate in future (formal / informal) education or training after the project
-Increasing the potential, attractiveness and international scope of organizations working in the field of education,
The subjects of the activities include: presentation of the Erasmus +, a schedule of events. Introduction to Ethnography. Let's look at Poland. Ethnographic workshops with the local community – celebrating in Poland. Let's look at the Netherlands workshops with the local community traditions - culture in the Netherlands. Let's look at Britain. Ethnographic workshops with the local community - traditions and culture in the UK. Let's look at Norway. Ethnographic workshops with the local community - ways of spending free time in Norway. Educational trip to the Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw. Summary of workshops, creating a map of the common features of the partner countries. Summary of workshops, creating a map of the differences between
the partner countries. Creating Youthpass certificates. Each day will be completed with an evaluation meeting, summarizing current activities.
Methods used:
- Integration games and activities.
- Ethnographic workshops - by working with the partner countries maps
- Using pictures, presentations, films of particular cultural phenomena in certain European regions.
- Discussions and group work
- Workshops on the ethnographic diversity of traditional costumes and music.
- Workshops with the local community – celebrating holidays and traditions in various regions of Poland. Presentation of traditional games and superstitions.
- Let’s look at the Netherlands in ethnographic terms- workshops on the ethnographic diversity of costumes, traditions, food of the Netherlands
- Ethnographic workshops with the local community - Presentation of traditional dishes, games, costumes, literature
-Let’s look at the UK in ethnographic terms - ethnographic workshops on the variety of costumes, traditions, music, language of Britain
- Workshops with the local community – celebrations and holidays in the various regions of Britain with a presentation of its traditional games and superstitions. The summary of the day – assessing meetings with exchange of thoughts, experiences and with work in teams.
- Let’s look at Norway in ethnographic terms - structure of multiculturalism in Norway. The variety of costumes tradition, religion
- Ethnographic workshops with the local community - Leisure time in Norway. Presentation of the most popular sports, games.
Ethnographic museum-Warsaw-educational trip "Celebrations in Polish and European cultures" and "Around the table" - an ethnographic journey in time.
- Summary workshop. Creating a map wit common characteristics of the partner countries.
