The ETIC_Algarve in_Motion Project is aimed at creating technical and structural competences for the development of the audiovisual sector in the Algarve, showcasing the region as a unique destination in Europe for production in the fields of the creative industries. With unpaired conditions in terms of climate, landscapes, culture and human resources in Europe, it becomes imperative that the Algarve takes up the role of a real option in audiovisual production. Our goals are strongly tied to the areas of teaching we focus on and aim to allow our students and recent graduates the possibility to access internships in these same fields of work, and there validate their good work practices. Showcase the Algarve as a scenery of excellence. Create international networks that may further develop the production of audiovisual projects. Enable our trainees to gain technical and practical know-how in the creative industries. During the realization of the project with a 2 year duration, we intend to send 20 students and recent graduates that have attended our long term technical teaching courses in the areas of Video, Photography, Design, Sound, Web and Communication. The activities that will be developed will be consequence of their stay in companies dedicated to the previously stated sectors. The choice of these receiving entities was based on that fact that these cities and places have experience and vocation in the creative industries sector. It is scheduled an insightful selection method through the presentation of creative challenges and further analysis and election of winning proposals. The internship will be rigorously monitored, always with the intention of communicating to future applicants the pasts experiences. We intend to communicate the project through various actions, like the creation of a specific newsletter organizing events focused on the Day of Europe (May 9th) to share the participants experiences with the inclusion of themes of European mobility in the annual Pitching Event that Etic_Algarve will organize, which will make known the work developed in context of internships throughout Europe, as well as the organization of a seminar/workshop dedicated to working as a network at a regional and European level. We hope that in this way we may contribute to a new dynamic in the Algarve which includes a new approach to a region that was until now focused on it’s sun and beaches, but which offers unique conditions in Europe and allows a new attitude, generating critical mass and new work opportunities in the creative sector.
