Provision of the latest information through the development of a highly targeted educational web site, designed to meet key clinical needs, will ensure that the areas of greatest educational need in cardiovascular medicine are addressed. New and more effective interventions to combat cardiovascular disease are being developed at a rapid rate, which means that there is an ever increasing need for healthcare workers to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in order to provide the best possible care for patients. To achieve this, the project will use the following steps:° identification of the best possible medical treatment for the major causes of morbidity and mortality; ° an assessment as to whether or not best practice is being carried out across Europe;° an assessment of the educational/training activities taking place across Europe in the key areas;educational content will then be created to enhance existing activities. Results on best practice achieved through training and education, and support for all other cardiological educational activities, will be disseminated through the web site itself, medical/cardiology journals, media contacts and major cardiovascular conferences across Europe.
