ET4EB – Energy Training for European Buildings

Energy use in buildings accounts for around half of total energy consumption in Europe. Much of this could be saved by the general use of existing best practices and efficient technologies. The project addresses the need to involve the users of public services in the design of those services and the role of training in making this involvement effective. It will develop new training on the social and behavioural aspects of energy management and train trainers and consultants to use both the technical and legal information provided by the former TREN project done by the partnership. . The specific aims of the project are to develop two new training modules, to train trainers and consultants, and to provide follow-up support and coaching in order to consolidate the learning and embed it in their practice. Target groups are people responsible for energy management in buildings and trainers or consultants advising them. The target sector are hotels, hospitals, schools, offices and multi-occupancy houses. Planned results are (on website and in seven languages): (1) new training modules on the use of social dialogue in energy management, and on energy monitoring and control in buildings, a Trainers Manual, (2) existing TREN modules in 3 new languages, (3) a project report, and -briefing materials for workshop participants (the last two results also in print). Valorisation and dissemination will include website (maintained for a minimum of 3 years after project`s end), newsletter, project brochure, events. Furthermore, the partners are committed to find ways of continuing their work on training for energy management after the end of the project. The networks of the partners will also add value to the dissemination. The impact of the project will be an improvement of the skills and competences of target groups, and improve the quality of and the access to continuing VT.
