ESVAC – European Scheme for Validation of Competences

The project is concerned with the creation and the experimentation phases of a common scheme of reference which can be applied to the processes of competence validation adopted by different national systems. The scheme is based on the definition of common principles, macro-criteria and macro-indicators adopted to guarantee the transferability and the certification of acquired competences within the vocational and educational training systems. In the project work plan, 1) each partner local government, on the basis of its territorial jurisdiction in education and vocational matters and related certification processes, tests the format for ten months within specific training fields, with the aim of defining potential integrations and changes; 2) the scheme common design is periodically evaluated and analysed with social players, training institutions and certification bodies; 3) the tested scheme is adopted by the partners with the aim of its integration in the Europass system and in the future community programmes on education and vocational training. The target groups of the project are a) those public authorities that can decide to adopt a tested scheme for the validation of competences acquired in formal contexts, b) those training and certification bodies that can adopt governing actions in the competence certification processes; 3) all people attending formal training courses, whose certifications must be recognised and validated. The approach proposed by the partners requires a strong cooperation, a constant dialogue and the verification of feasibility with the different subjects concerned in the competence validation processes (training and education bodies, universities, certification bodies).
