Establishment of Renewable Energy Storage Clusters (RES-Clu)

Main overall objective of our Project is to strengthen the competitiveness of SME's and institutions in the green/renewable energy sector on both sides of the border. To reach this, following specific goals have been determined:- Detailed survey of electricity system regulation problems and deficiencies in both regions, and their potential elimination options- Organization and long-term operation and cooperation of Clusters on both sides of border- Alliance (clusters) organization and operation for SME's and institutions interested in Energy Storage, which could be the resolution for increasing renewables energy generation- Specific examination of the distribution system in the 5 target regions from the perspective of incorporating increasing renewable energy generation (mainly solar and wind)- Introduction, information, demonstration of novel Energy Storage methods, with how they can tackle above-mentioned problems specifically Achievements: Renewable energy plays a vital role in economic and regional development nowadays, as it was obvious in recent periods. The project was devoted to fulfilling existing demands of selected target groups from the renewable energy sector by the establishment and operation of information offices and energy storage clusters by using long-term communication tools, consultancy and information services. With these tools, the partners encouraged investments in renewable energy, and this may have a great impact on reducing harmful emissions (e.g. CO2), and on supporting environmental efforts. As both sides of the border possess different experiences in renewable energy generation (e.g. SK more solar, HU more wind), great cross-border synergies could be created through this cooperation and experience/knowledge sharing.
