Establishment of Computing Centers and Curriculum Development in Mathematical Engineering Master program
Date du début: 15 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 14 oct. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Engineering mathematics is at the core of all branches of engineering, from aerospace engineering to electronics; from mechanical engineering to computer science. The reasons of the project are: - need for the use of high-hume technologies to strengthen industrial, economic capacities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan;- lack of specialists, poor awareness of available appropriate technologies;- existing educational programs in mathematics lack practical outcome;-absence of platform for collaboration of academic staff in the field;- poor collaboration between HEIs, industries and research institutions, existing separately from HEIs retards introduction of research into practice and reduces capacities of HEIs to train marketable graduates.ECCUM project outputs: Interdisciplinary Master Program in Mathematical Engineering (qualification descriptors, curriculum, syllabuses),Established Computing Centres in each partner country university; shared by partners web-platform with the opportunity to join for outer stakeholders (HEIs, companies, scholars) for the purpose of professional development, e-learning; research and academic collaboration. 30% of the courses of the developed master program will be taught in English; new software will be introduced, therefore training of academic staff to work with the new software along with new pedagogical skills of teaching in English will foster the reciprocal development of human resources.Exposure to EU approaches to teaching Mathematical Engineering, developing interdisciplinary program builds up the capacity of higher education institutions for international cooperation. Local stakeholders’ needs analysis in each partner country enhances the quality and relevance of higher education. Developed program promotes implementation of the Bologna principles. The broad impact of the project contributes to innovative industrial development of the partner countries as Engineering is the art of creating and improving environment.
